Use Seim GUARDIAN Residual Peroxide Test Strips after completing the dialyzer rinse procedure and prior to initiating dialysis.

Application :

Serim^® GUARDIAN™ Peracetic Acid Test Strips indicate the "potency" or concentration of peracetic acid present in peracetic acid/hydrogen peroxide-based disinfectants used to disinfect dialyzers. Dialyzers are generally filled with peracetic acid solutions with a working concentration >= 800 ppm.

Test each dialyzer prior to use for the presence of disinfectant.

Application :

Serim^® GUARDIAN™ Water Hardness Test Strips is used to describe the total concentration of calcium and magnesium ions, expressed as ppm (or grains per gallon) of calcium carbonate, CaCO3 because hard water can adversely affect the dialysis patient as well as damage the water purification equipment. In general, water treatment system manufacturers recommend that the hardness of water entering the RO filter should not exceed 10 ppm of calcium carbonate.

If hemodialysis machines are disinfected with bleach, it is important to ensure that the disinfectant has been properly rinsed and any residual chlorine is below the concentration that may potentially cause adverse patient events such as allergic reactions, hemolysis and death.

Use Serim^® GUARDIAN™ Residual Chlorine Test Strips after rinsing the bleach solution from the hemodialysis system and prior to initiating dialysis.
